Very informative practical tips for anyone who wants to start a wedding photography business, or even seasoned pros who needed some inspiration. Thank you Jensen.
At 1:04:11 She talks about this "Camera" that she pronounce "LUMAX" a hybrid camera…. indicated on the slide show, really ??? . You are using it. What, you did not know it is a Panasonic Lumix ? and what Model are you talking about anyway ??? (oh yeah, a Hybrid) ha ha ha… Sounds strange for a Pro Photographer to describe her equipment like that.
dear photographers…..do u think photography business is dying g due to mobile phones. it seems like no one will pay for a photographer costing hundreds…Wat do u all think
Don't use Legal Zoom to create your business. It will be more expensive than it needs to. My memory is a bit foggy from when I researched this but they will assign you a random lawyer in their system and you will never hear from that lawyer if your business has any legal trouble. Basically the lawyer receives your mail including lawsuits so there's a chance they will croak or retire and you'll never hear anything about it. The only bad thing about filing yourself is you will start receiving lots of junk mail at the address you used for filing.
Avoid using other peoples websites as it makes their website rank higher, get your own website, avoid using yellow pages or yel too. To get experience do family and friends weddings for free, this will give you experience.Once you get more confident get out there.
I think using her marketing skills got her that sponsorship deal with Panasonic. I don't think "using mirrorless" is part of her success as a photographer? But I may be wrong.
Look at her web site first http://www.kristenjensen.com now listen to the presentation "so so so technically" repeds all the time B&H is getting desperate or they cutting budget
B&H, you should link her wedding web page since this is a wedding video. Her main page doesn't have any of her wedding info or pics. http://kristenjensenweddings.com/
Obviously, that's working for her, but I tend to stay away from photographers who in 2014 still rely on the "sitting fee plus prints" model. I think it's very outdated to charge $800 for a portrait session and then charge $10 a print (or whatever) because now days, people want hi-res copies that they can use online, archive, or make prints. It's also unpredictable to see how much it will cost in the end and the result is, you'll end up taking photos that won't sell and you'll end up doing work that you won't get paid for, and the customer won't get all their pictures. I always go for photographers that give all their best pictures and charge for their time. Instead of the above, just say $1000, and you get all your pics. If you want additional services, then great, if not, no problem, win/win.
i keep watching this b&h wedd stuff and i keep telling to myself…. this guys are good, they capture the moments, but tehnically they are not great; they know how to sell they stuff.
The pictures are out dated. I cant believe people are paying for these pics so much. Horrible
I know this lady has good advice, but her tone and the powerpoint puts me to sleep…. zzzzz
Did she just totally burn the Monkey Plumber ?, hilarious.

Stay away from wedding wire! It used to be good a few years ago. other than that, good stuff
Giving away a disc of digitals with a base price? That's a whole world of lost money
Thank you for this video B&H and thank you Kristen for the tips and links. Very informative and useful. Really. Thank you!

It really helps so much. Thank you for the tips Jensen!
6:05 : How funny…. Everyone calls me "Sunni" (pronounced "Sunny") So I named my business Sunni-Side-Up Productions…. Just funny that you mentioned it…
Wow i lived in Bethel, growing up. I loved going to Blue Jay Orchard. Their apples were soooo goooood!

I saw Kristen Jensen at Unique Photo. Her presentation was kind of terrible. Giving her a second chance with this.
These are more "Tips for runing your wedding photography business" not "starting".

Great Info.

What is the name of the book she sells?
Great presentation with many valuable tips to bring back. Well worth the time spent watching.
Good info. It's always interesting to see another view.
(Also, listening while editing but thank god for the speed settings. ;))
This was a great video. If Kristen would go out with me I would second shoot for her. heh.
Decent information. Nothing innovative. She's a horribly boring speaker, though.
What about the guy at 6:17 – Monkey Plumber Productions lol
This has been very very helpful…thanks to you dear,we really appreciate.
