I always wanted a vintage looking ring, I end up taking my ring to my local jeweler and we got it melted to make a vintage design with it
I received a purple and 3 diamond small on each side.. is it a real one?
Your ring is beautiful but that website is well beyond my reach!
I just traded in my modern set for an antique 1920s art deco platinum and diamond. 0.8ct OEC. I'm absolutely head over heels with it 😍 I've wanted an antique for years
If you want a vintage or vintage inspired ring, but can not afford the prices, go visit pawn shops and I am sure you will find something you like. Vintage means pre-loved either way. It’s not like they made these rings and locked it for 80plus years right?
Cherry, thanks for this great vid! As antique jewelers ourselves, we totally agree when you say that you should just take the plunge when you see a ring you love online. We've had so many customers who missed out on their dream ring because they waited a little too long! But of course it is important for a customer to have peace of mind by buying from a trustworthy shop with excellent reviews and a reasonable return policy. Some people view the jewelry industry as a bunch of scam artists, but from our experience antique jewelers on the whole are an honest group of people who love what they do and are passionate about sharing their love of antique jewelry with others.

What a fantastic summary of what to look out for in an antique engagement ring! Thank you so much!
What a beautiful ring! I'm a big fan of vintage fine jewellery so loved this vid. My only quibble is I disagree that certified diamonds are a preferable purchase – jewellers charge a hefty premium for certified diamonds and in fact many vintage rings with 'old cut' diamonds like yours are not certified precisely because they are vintage! Plus, a 'yellow' toned diamond with inclusions can still fire beautifully but be far less hefty on the purse. Modern jewellery, especially diamonds, is in most cases ridiculously over-priced and in my view lacks the charm and style of pieces with real age to them. Thanks for sharing!
Your ring is gorgeous! I also love your lipstick brooch, where did you get that from??
I disagree with the idea that we use our hands more, bitches in the 20s were hardcore. Unless you were a movie star or something.
Great video though!
it's so pretty!
I got my engagement ring here from Gems of London on Etsy. They have a lot of options and different designs. Especially if you can't afford a real vintage ring or don't want a diamond. I have the sterling silver Victorian ring with center set opal and two sapphires. I'm lucky I'm not a huge fan of diamonds or gold and platinum, My fiance got it under $150.
I wanted to get an antique ring, but we didn't have enough money yet… but maybe I'll upgrade it some day. Your ring is really beautiful and I totally get why you bought it!<3
Wow way to upgrade a wedding ring 😂 sentiment pfft I want antique diamonds……. This is giving me ideas 😂
Yes yes yes!! This was a perfect video! Thank youuu:)
I have a great vintage engagement ring and my man shopped around everywhere, including etsy , and local orange county antique shops. He finally found The One on Rubylane.com. i highly recommend this site. great collection of tons of established antique shops and jewellers. thanks for the video Cherry! i have to work on getting my ring insured now. 💍💎💗👰
Such great tips! I looked into antique rings, but my fiance and I ended up deciding to buy new. I actually just did a video with all of my diamond shopping tips because I learned so much in the process!
I'm not quite sure what to think about this. Don't get me wrong – your ring is absolutely beautiful and sparkly and everything! But you just went to Trevor and told him "Baby, I want a new wedding ring. A vintage one." And he was not upset at all? I mean, I probably would think you dislike the ring I got you in the first place or something like that… If a couple wants to get new rings after they were married for 25 years or something, that's something I get. You went through so many things together, maybe you raised kids together… But only one year after a wedding? Seems a little odd to me, to be honest. But if you two are okay with everything that's great! 🙂
My ring is vintage inspired from Shane Co. It's a pear cut with teeny tiny diamonds in the band, filligree, and a cathedral setting. I love it, but I really like the mine cut diamond!
I love your brooch! (And your new ring too!)
I have a vintage ring that I wear on my wedding finger because my bones spread while pregnant and my original ring is now worn on my pinky instead. My vintage ring is only from 1978 or 79; it is the ring my father bought my mom when they were married. Even though it is only about 37 years old, the quality is far different form a modern ring. The diamond sparkles much more than my ring (we did not spend much as I was 20). I get many compliments because the style is also different from most rings worn by women my age.
Thank you for sharing…..i'm actually thinking about getting a vintage wedding ring, or at least one that looks vintage. My hubby and I will be married 24 years this Feb. We have been through a crazy roller coaster with cancer and such, but still madly in love with each other…..this year might be the year for an upgrade 😉
pawn shops are a good place as well if you know what you're looking for.
Headed to Minneapolis next month have to stop in and have a look see. Absolutely lovely ring.
Your new wedding ring is absolutely stunning. Congratulations Mrs. Cherry Dollface
